I want to import products, but I don’t know where to start?

What about quality, how do you guarantee this with imported products?

We monitor the entire process from start to finish, requesting samples for approval to ensure a high-quality end result. Manufacturing won’t begin until product sign-off and all goods undergo strict quality control and final production sample approval before shipping. We also ensure products meet Australian regulations and standards where applicable.




How do you negotiate the best price?

Our long-standing relationships enable us to negotiate better prices for our clients. We also have the ability to consolidate smaller orders where possible to take advantage of economies of scale, not only reducing cost per unit, but also allowing smaller order quantities.




I don’t understand freight or insurance?

Don’t worry, you don’t need to. As part of our service, we take care of freight, insurance and delivery; everything is included in our cost. As sourcing and import specialists, we are able to negotiate competitive prices with international freight companies, customs and insurance brokers.




How long does it take for my goods to arrive?

This is very dependent on the individual product, the quantity ordered, and the type of freight used. At the outset, you will be provided with a complete timeline with estimated delivery time frames.




How can I find out where my shipment is?

We offer clients access to our industry leading online tracking portal. Once your quote has been approved you will receive your unique portal logins. From here you can easily check the status and exact location of your goods. You will also receive email notifications each time your order status is updated.

Doesn’t importing require a special import licence?

In some cases, certain products can require specific Australian licences and approvals. In these situations, our licenced customs officer will work with you to ensure you have all the information you need. SJ Consultants holds all relevant licenses to import a wide range of products including dangerous goods.




What restrictions are there on importing goods from China?

As product sourcing specialists, we are well versed in the relevant importation requirements, regulations and restrictions. If there are particular product quarantine requirements or customs regulations, we will inform you.

Will my order be big enough?
